Management Statement

Quality, working conditions and sustainability (including environment) are essential aspects of the execution of our work. Our policies in these fields therefore form an integral part of Eekels’ general policy. Eekels has chosen to lay down in full its way of working based on these processes, incorporating the Quality-Working Conditions-Sustainability aspects. To emphasise that the delivery of quality in a safe and healthy manner for people and the environment for now and in the future is everyone’s responsibility, we have called this system KAM4ALL. Although quality, working conditions and sustainability are all regulated within one system, all three aspects have their own specific targets.

Quality

As Eekels staff we are aware that we owe our existence to our customers. This is why the quality of our services, systems and products meets the demands and expectations of our customers, and complies with legal and social standards. In addition, we strive for long-term relationships with our customers and suppliers. This explains our mission: ‘Partner in Technical Solutions’. We aim to achieve the required quality by controlling and continuously improving our company processes.

To guarantee quality and thus gain our customers’ trust, Eekels has laid down its working method in the KAM4ALL system, which is periodically tested by management and which, if needed, is adjusted through organisational improvements. In the same way, we ask suppliers for a guarantee for their systems, products and services.

Some important basic assumptions are:

  • The customer is the focus;
  • Deploying skilled and motivated personnel;
  • All activities right the first time;
  • Continuous improvement.

The quality system and its implementation are NEN-EN ISO 9001:2015 certified. In addition, we are certified for fusion welling of metals in conformity with NEN 3834-2:2006.

Working conditions

At Eekels care for working conditions entails achieving the highest possible level of safety, the best possible health protection, and promotion of wellbeing at work for all employees. The target is zero accidents with absenteeism.

Some basic assumptions:

  • Work safely or do not work at all!
  • Prevent personal injury.
  • Prevent material and environmental damage.
  • Hold each other accountable regarding unsafe behaviour.
  • Continuous improvement.

Communication with employees is in the Dutch language. Non-native speakers shall be communicated with in a language that they understand. In the event of an employee being involved in an accident, Eekels offers the possibility of lighter duties.

The occupational health and safety system satisfies relevant Occupational Health and Safety (ARBO) legislation and regulations and is VCA** certified (with the exception of the Romania Business Unit).

Sustainability

Why sustainable business practices? Sustainable business practices offer perspective and encourage innovation. Dealing with shortages in a smart manner and considering the most sustainable solution isn’t just something that you ‘ought’ to do – it also offers market opportunities and provides inspiration. We are convinced that sustainable business practices are the only way of doing business – both now and in the future. Pre-sorting is necessary, sitting still is not an option, and Eekels is taking its social responsibility in this regard. When making decisions, Eekels considers it its obligation not just to take into account the effects on its economic performance. Due care is also being paid to the effects on humans and the environment in the decision-making process.

We continue to constantly strive to reduce our footprint. Our aim is also to make a positive difference in our markets in the field of Sustainability.

Eekels, together with its sister companies within TBI, wants to be a defining player in the area of sustainable business practices. We want it, we are able to do it – and so we are doing it.

Eekels is certified at level 3 on the CO2 performance ladder.
