Eekels | TBI and Vitens work together to create Proof of Concept for new laboratory control technology

On 22 May, the collaboration between Vitens and Eekels was confirmed in an agreement for the implementation of the Proof of Concept (POC) for new control technology. Vitens produces and supplies reliable drinking water. Water that meets the quality requirements laid down in the Dutch Drinking Water Act (‘Drinkwaterwet’). Vitens periodically takes water samples from source to tap. These samples are examined using various parameters in the Vitens laboratory.

Vitens’ laboratory is not only the largest but also one of the most modern water laboratories in the Netherlands. In order to maintain this lead and make it future-proof, a project has been started to further modernise the process control of the laboratory’s analysis equipment and conveyors. The most modern and secure control technology is being used for this purpose. Due to the unique technology and 24/7 service provided by the laboratory, a POC is first carried out before the new control technology is rolled out throughout the laboratory.

One of the reasons why Vitens has chosen Eekels is that Eekels wants to carry out the project together with Vitens. This customer-oriented approach, combined with the experience and expertise of Eekels, was the deciding factor for Vitens.
