Eekels | TBI commissioned by Damen for Seaxplorer

Eekels Technology B.V. has been commissioned by Damen Shipyards Gorinchem for the execution of the electrical installation of a SeaXplorer. The SeaXplorer is an impressive combination of a luxurious superyacht and an expedition yacht, intended for adventurous yacht owners who would literally like to extend their boundaries and explore the farthest reaches of the earth.

The commission includes the design and supply of the lighting installation, including the lighting management and control system. The integral alarm and monitoring system and the low voltage alternating current supply control system are also supplied by Eekels. The vessel is equipped with a helicopter deck for which Eekels will supply the lighting.

Construction of the vessel is to take place at the Damen shipyard in Galati Romania. Eekels Romania will take care of the assembly and commissioning of the electrical installation, including the delivery and installation of all the steel and aluminium work required for the electrical installation (cable casings etc.).

Commissioning of the ship is planned for 2019.
