Eekels | TBI commissioned by Solidus Solutions

Solid board and packaging manufacturer Solidus Solutions in Hoogkerk commissioned Eekels for the replacement of two cross cutter operating systems. The cross cutters cut cardboard sheets with great precision. Eekels developed these operating systems in around 1995 using microprocessor technology and EVE frequency converters. A special feature of the operating system was the system’s very short cycle, which is required to achieve exact precision. As requested, the operating system has now been replaced by a standard PLC system. Since the velocity of the I/O system was crucial, the Beckhoff PLC system with Ethercat I/O system was chosen. Since its realisation, the operating system is again “State of the Art” with the same velocity and precision users had been accustomed to with the old system.
