Eekels | TBI congratulates Feadship Royal van Lent Shipyard!

This evening, five maritime prizes were awarded during the Maritime Awards Gala in Rotterdam, including the KNVTS Ship of the Year 2022. The winner of this prestigious award is MY Viva, one of the largest and most advanced motor yachts built in the Netherlands, designed and built by Royal van Lent Shipyard. Eekels is proud that she was able to make an important contribution to this winning ship.

Motor yacht Viva was built on behalf of a foreign client with the aim of creating a comfortable ship with an unobstructed view from the accommodation, which must also be able to sail in an environmentally friendly and Tier II manner.

The design, engineering and construction was done entirely in the Netherlands by Feadship Royal van Lent in close collaboration with Azure yacht design and resulted in a combination of innovation in several areas. Engineering of the ship was done entirely in 3-D to gain insight into the complexity of the techniques and the integration thereof, including the enormous number of suppliers, everything must flow seamlessly into each other. Because Tier III was not yet available for main engines at the time of the contract, Feadship designed a smart hybrid drive to make this possible and added some options. Generators feature SCR, Selective Catalytic Reduction, exhaust gas treatment with Urea injection and comply with IMO Marpol Annex VI Tier III.
