Eekels | TBI contributes to sustainable technology on board the 'Thun Resolve'

With the delivery of the Thun Resolve, Eekels once again adds an impressive project to its maritime portfolio. The 115-metre oil and chemical tanker, built for the Swedish shipping company Erik Thun AB, is the fourth vessel in a series of ten modern tankers. Thanks to a cargo capacity of 9,700 m³ and smart energy technology, the Thun Resolve is fully prepared for efficient and sustainable operations at sea.

For this project, Eekels was responsible for the complete design, supply and commissioning of the electrical installation on board. An important part of this is Marpower’s advanced energy system. Featuring, among other things, a Multi Drive Cabinet including the shaft generator, shore power connection and battery pack, energy consumption is intelligently distributed and fuel consumption can be optimized.

The vessel is also equipped with modern technology in the areas of automation and ease of use. From the main switchboards and bridge consoles to the complete cabling, lighting, fire detection system and navigation systems, Eekels delivered a total solution in which reliability and safety are central.

The successful delivery of the Thun Resolve once again confirms Eekels’ strength within the maritime sector. Through craftsmanship, innovation and collaboration, we continue building the next vessels in this series, ready for the future of shipping!
