Eekels | TBI delivers successful E-installation on the "Thun Reliance"

Eekels has successfully delivered the E-installation on the "Thun Reliance". The "Thun Reliance," with construction number FS468, is the second ship in a series of now eight oil/chemical tankers being built for Swedish shipowner Erik Thun AB. With a length of 115m and a capacity of 9700 m3, this tanker is a paragon of maritime engineering.

At Eekels, we designed and supplied the entire electrical installation, an achievement of which we are particularly proud.

But what really sets the "Thun Reliance" apart is the integration of a Multi Drive Cabinet supplied by Marpower. This DC distribution cabinet, equipped with a PTI/PTH/PTO generator, a 125A Shore connection, and a battery pack which allows for more efficient energy management on board, enabling fuel savings.

In addition, Marpower supplied a Cargo Drive cabinet, which provides electric drive for the cargo pumps.

Furthermore, our delivery also includes the engineering, installation and commissioning of a range of systems and equipment, including a 440V main and emergency switchboard, the Marpower Automation System, Marpower drive cabinets, a PTO/PTI/PTH shaft generator, and the Cargo, Navigation, Wing and GMDSS lecterns for the bridge.

Eekels also provided the cabling and installation work for the in-house and third-party installations, as well as the supply and installation of the fire alarm and lighting system down to the stove and searchlights.
