Eekels | TBI makes an important contribution to the successful trial run and delivery of "Arklow Ace"

On the 9th of April of this year, Shipyard Ferus Smit Westerbroek delivered the “Arklow Ace”, hull number FS439, after a successful trial run from Delfzijl/de Eemshaven. Eekels | TBI designed and supplied the complete electrical installation for the third ship in the series of six new 8600 dwt to be built for the Irish shipowner Arklow.

The delivery includes a 400V main and emergency switchboard, the alarm system, the 380kW bow thruster motor equipped with an Eekels frequency drive, an axle generator and the control desks for the bridge. In addition to the cabling and installation work for its own installations and installations of third parties, Eekels provided the lighting and alarm installation up to the searchlights.

The present Arklow ‘A’ series is a further development from the series of six Arklow ‘B’ vessels delivered by Ferus Smit and fitted out by us in 2014-15.
