Eekels | TBI receives order for Fast Yacht Support Vessel

In January 2016 Damen Shipyards commissioned Eekels for the delivery of the complete electrical installation for a Fast Yacht Support Vessel type 6911. This 69-metre long vessel was developed for the ultimate “super yacht support” application. The ship design is the Sea Axe model, of which Damen has built and delivered many ships.

Eekels Technology delivers the complete electrical installation, including for example the coupling switches, bow thruster installations, automation and alarm system. The wiring and its installation and the commissioning shall take place at the Damen shipyard in Gorinchem.

The vessel has been developed based on the demands of superyacht owners in order to meet the demand for more equipment , extra boats, supplies, crew and and to have available a helicopter available world-wide. The vessel accommodates 22 people and its operational sailing speed is 20 knots. On and below deck there is storage room for extra boats and water sport equipment. The helicopter can be stowed in a hangar below deck.
