Eekels | TBI sponsors Uganda Technical College project in Kichwamba

As part of its social responsibility Eekels, through Hanze University Foundation, has become sponsor of the UTC project in Kichwamba. Hanze University Foundation is an independent foundation linked to Hanze University Groningen, which calls on the societal engagement of its employees, students, alumni and businesses in its region. It supports four educational themes that contribute significantly to vocational education for young people and to sustainable development in developing countries regarding energy, entrepreneurship, healthcare and ICT.

One of the sponsor activities is Inspiration Breakfast 2017, the proceeds of which will go to Uganda Technical College in Kichwamba. After a difficult time this technical school, located in the former working area of the Lord’s Resistance Army, has resumed its mission of offering young people a good technical education. The coming years they will be working on offering a study programme in the field of sustainable energy, while simultaneously making their own campus sustainable. Eekels is happy to contribute to this beautiful project.
