Successful Sea Trial of the ECO Trinity

The vessel ECO Trinity, built by the Chinese shipyard Dayang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., has successfully completed its sea trial. This marks a significant milestone for both the ship and the collaboration between Eekels and the shipyard.

Eekels was contracted by Briese Chartering GmbH & Co. KG to deliver various systems for a total of 10 vessels in the OTECO 9000 series. The ECO TRINITY is the fifth vessel in this series to have successfully completed its sea trial.

Eekels provided system integration for the construction of the vessel. Additionally, several key systems from Marpower were supplied, including the AMCS (Alarm, Monitoring & Control System), a Bow Thruster Drive with a Shaft Generator, and an engine.

The bow thruster drive was implemented using a Marpower EVE with 570kVA, which is a fully Eekels product, as are the bow thruster control panels. All systems were designed and assembled in the Netherlands, where they also underwent Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). The systems were then installed by the shipyard and commissioned by our colleagues at the shipyard in China, with remote support from our office in Emmen.

In addition to Eekels' contributions, SaierNico played a key role in the construction of the vessel. SaierNico supplied the switchboards, which were seamlessly integrated into the overall system.

The ECO TRINITY represents an important step in the collaboration between Eekels, Dayang Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., and our partners. Thanks to the integration of innovative systems and the expertise of various departments, as well as the dedication of our colleagues in China, we can proudly say that we have once again made a high-quality contribution to shipbuilding.
