Conversion Clipper Amsterdam
Eekels Technology B.V. is proud to be awarded by Shipyard Damen Den Helder as their electrical sub-contractor for the upcoming midlife maintenance refit of the Clipper Stad Amsterdam with respect to increase the efficiency and sustainability of the vessel. The refit is scheduled to start in November 2019 at the Damen Shipyard Den Helder. The seatrials and delivery to owner will be in April 2020. In time to be ready for a two-year voyage round the world to promote the seventeen goals adopted by the UN for sustainable development. During this voyage the vessel will make seventeen stops, beginning in Amsterdam and finishing in New York.
Eekels will be responsible for the engineering, delivery and installation of the switch board in combination with energy storage system with a Li-ion battery package, alarm and monitoring system and Marpower Shore Converter. Beside that Eekels will be responsible for all the electric work related to the replacement of the main engine, diesel-generators, sewage plant and galley upgrade.
