Cable Router Yachting

Eekels | TBI is looking for a Cable Router for the business unit Yachting. In this role, you are responsible for the routing of all cables on board superyachts. All systems on board a superyacht must be provided with cables, with their specific properties and route requirements. After engineering has defined the large number of cables, you determine the route from A to B over lanes and through penetrations, after which they can be installed.

You are the spider in the web between engineering and implementation. Planning and route design are essential to ensure that cables can be laid optimally. You take into account the cable length, space risks, necessary separation, etc.

What is expected of you?

• Determining the most optimal cable routes and processing them in our own cable database. You do this on the basis of supplied engineering data, cable routes on board and standards/regulations. You also monitor progress and report on it;
• Evaluate structural constraints to optimize the route and mitigate risks;
• Work closely with the project team throughout the entire design cycle;
• Depending on the shipyard, you will be on board regularly, so that you know exactly what is and is not possible;
• In this position you will report to both the project manager and the executor.

The business unit Yachting is one of the largest electrotechnical system integrators within the Dutch yacht building industry and is active at various shipyards in the top segment of the Dutch yacht building industry. As a system integrator, we are present from start to finish to design, install and commission all systems on board (own and third parties).

Do you recognize yourself in this profile?

• Minimum MBO work and thinking level;
• Knowledge of (maritime) electrical engineering or mechatronics;
• Knowledge of the installation of cables, in large quantities and in/through specific spaces;
• Several years of relevant experience, preferably in shipbuilding;
• Communicative skills and cooperation are a given.
• Proactive approach and good analytical skills;
• Experience in reading technical drawings;
• A good command of Dutch and English.
