Cost Engineer Yachting

Eekels | TBI is looking for a Cost Engineer for the business unit Yachting (location Zaandam). In the role of Cost Engineer you are responsible for calculating a reliable cost price and you maintain contact with customers in order to be able to offer the most suitable quotation.

What is expected of you?

• Calculating a reliable cost price substantiated in a complete quotation file;
• Collaborate well with other departments (engineering, project management, purchasing) and the eXperience and Systems business units to translate customer requirements into a preliminary design, which forms the basis for you to implement and compile the technical specification, a budget and a commercial proposal to the customer;
• Maintaining customer contacts and discussing requests with the customer in order to be able to offer the most suitable quotation, on time and with the desired accuracy, technical content and price;
• After the order has been awarded, you ensure the successful transfer of the sales file to the project team;
• Initiating improvement proposals (process improvement, standard calculations, calculation tools) that lead to an improvement of the quotation process.

The business unit Yachting is one of the largest electrical system integrators in the Dutch yacht building industry and operates at various shipyards in the top segment of the Dutch yacht industry. As a system integrator, we are present from start to finish, designing, installing, and commissioning all onboard systems (both our own and third-party). This includes everything from energy supply to yacht steering and every conceivable technological experience on board.

Do you recognize yourself in this profile?

• Secondary vocational education (mbo+)/Bachelor (hbo) work and intellectual level with an electrical engineering background, combined with several years of relevant experience in shipbuilding;
• Systematic, assertive and strong analytical skills;
• Flexible, stress-resistant and customer and results-oriented;
• Independent and has (commercially oriented) communication skills;
• Good command of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written;
• Experience in sales is a plus, but not a must.
