Function

Eekels | TBI is looking for a Lead Engineer for the business unit Yachting to strengthen the Engineering department (Zaandam location). We are looking for a Lead Engineer who is confident in his/her electrical engineering knowledge, is self-reliant and can take the lead to set up the design with the help of Engineers.
Yachting's engineering team processes all cable and system integration data from third party systems on board Super Yachts. From this, cable connection data is produced. These are cable plans, cable data, block diagrams, system descriptions, commissioning reports.
Secondly, Engineering makes panel drawings for distribution, such as main and sub-distribution, starter and control panels. Installation plans with overviews for fire detection systems, WCD, panels, junction boxes. We coordinate the hardware and software control of lighting systems and alarm monitoring control systems.

What is expected of you?

  • Leading the Engineers for third party suppliers;
  • Designing main and sub distribution panels and leading Engineers for the drawing work;
  • Checking and validating the generated work;
  • Drawing up, maintaining and validating a design file including short-circuit calculations, selectivity calculations, heat loss calculations and power balances;
  • Supervising the preparation of manufacturing and commissioning protocols;
  • Picking up and maintaining changes and managing the timely processing of revision work;
  • Monitoring the project planning and drawing up an hourly budget;
  • A large part of the systems on a ship are part of third-party suppliers. You need to find out and process ambiguities regarding I/Os, serial data and/or connection information;
  • Ensuring clear communication with the project team and our client.



Environment

The business unit Yachting is one of the largest electrotechnical system integrators within the Dutch yacht building industry and is active at various shipyards in the top segment of the Dutch yacht building industry. As a system integrator, we are present from start to finish to design, install and commission all systems on board (own and third parties).

Experience

Do you recognize yourself in this profile?

  • Bachelor (hbo) work and intellectual level in electrical engineering;
  • Several years of relevant experience preferably in shipbuilding;
  • Systematic, assertive employee with strong analytical skills who is results-oriented;
  • Ability to work well with others and have (commercially oriented) communication skills;
  • A good command of Dutch and English.
