Function
Eekels | TBI is looking for a Manager Engineering for the business unit Yachting. We are looking for an energetic manager who can provide direction and guidance to future developments within the Engineering department based on broad experience. You do this based on a shared vision of the future to which you make an important contribution.
In our process of continuous improvement we strive to further increase the quality and production of the department. To achieve this we are working on the following developments:
- from document to data driven engineering
- from location-oriented to functional drawing
- from discipline to project-oriented work
What is expected of you?
- Provide daily hierarchical leadership to the Engineering department, consisting of Lead Engineers, Engineers, Technical Managers/Project Leaders and Technical Specialists;
- Provide direction and guidance to the developments that are in full swing in the Engineering department;
- Able to convey the shared vision of the future to the Engineering team, but certainly also to the acceptance of the changes in the organization. The developments will influence not only engineering but also production, execution and project management;
- Contribute to the strategy and further developments of the Yachting business unit;
- Provide coaching leadership to your employees, helping them get the best out of themselves in such a way that they and the entire team develops;
- You are familiar with the process from order to delivery of the electrical installation on board ships (preferably yachts) and understand what is expected of engineering in this process;
- In consultation with project management, ensure that projects are staffed with the right capabilities;
- Advising sales on the necessary engineering capacity to be included in quotations and, if necessary, making capacity available for proposal engineering;
- Ensure that the department has the right competencies in the right capacity and report on current and future workload;
- In this position you will report to the Business Unit Manager Yachting.
Environment
The Business Unit Yachting is one of the largest electrotechnical system integrators within the Dutch yacht building industry and is active in the top segment of the Dutch yacht building industry. As a system integrator, we are present from start to finish to install and connect the self-designed systems. This for the energy supply to the yacht control and all conceivable technological experiences on board.
You will work on the most challenging projects in the field of experience where sustainability is becoming increasingly important. For this reason, yacht building is a sector in shipbuilding that is at the forefront in many areas (electro)technical.
Within the Yachting business unit, the Engineering department provides the expertise to design a safe and high-quality electrical installation in the most efficient way, after which the construction and commissioning can take place as efficiently as possible based on the documents produced.
We have an open informal working atmosphere, where there is a lot of attention for each other. Eekels finds sustainability very important and that is why we apply the latest sustainable techniques, in order to minimize the environmental impact of the most fantastic superyachts. Experience
Do you recognize yourself in this profile?
- Minimum bachelor/master level;
- A background in (maritime) electrical engineering;
- Several years of relevant experience, preferably in a similar position;
- Organizationally strong, structured and process-oriented;
- Decisive and convincing in your actions;
- A good command of Dutch and English.
